Student Groups

There are four sponsored student groups in the department: 

• Psychology Club/Psi Chi
• Association of Black Psychology Students (ABPS)
• Industrial Organizational Psychology Club (IOPC)
• Psychology International Student Association (PISA or ISPA)

Everyone is welcome to attend events hosted by any of our student groups.

• Completion of 3 semesters of college coursework
• Completion of 9 psychology credits
• For transfer students: completion of 12 University of Minnesota Twin Cities credits minimum
• Minimum 3.0 GPA in psychology
• Earned rank in upper 35% of Psychology and Developmental Psychology declared majors in general scholarship (minimum 3.0 on 4.0 scale)

1. Complete the online application.
2. Watch for an email from Psi Chi with a decision on your application.
   1. Decision emails are sent 7-10 business days after application in Fall and Spring terms.
3. Accepted students receive an email from [email protected] with payment instructions.
   1. Students are required to pay a one-time $60 membership fee to join Psi Chi for lifetime membership ($55 plus processing fees).
      1. If you do not see this email from [email protected], check your spam folder.
   2. There is an additional one-time chapter fee of $10 that goes to the UMNTC Psi Chi chapter.
